GlassesUSA Warning: Incorrect PD & Customer Service Catastrophe! 😠

My recent online shopping experience with GlassesUSA was nothing short of a nightmare, and I feel compelled to share my story as a warning to others. We ordered glasses for my 12-year-old son after he found them using their virtual try-on, but when they arrived, he simply couldn't see properly. We quickly discovered that the pupil distance (PD) was incorrect. The issue is that the GlassesUSA site does not prompt you to provide the PD number, and if you don’t know to provide it, they will just assume a value of 62 (adult) or another value for kids. Of course, that means the value will be wrong for many buyers. This critical oversight and the resulting unusable glasses meant I had to try and reach customer service, a task that proved incredibly frustrating, to get this mess sorted out.

Customer: Hello, I'm calling about order [Order Number] for my son. We received his glasses, and he can't see through them because the pupil distance is completely wrong. Your website never asked for his PD, and now we have glasses that don't work. CS Rep: I sincerely apologize for the trouble you're experiencing with your son's glasses and the incorrect pupil distance. I understand how incredibly frustrating this must be, especially for a child. Let me pull up your order details right away. Customer: Frustrating is an understatement. We've already had to go back to the doctor, and now this. Trying to even get through to someone has been a hassle, and the thought of sending these back and waiting weeks for a replacement, leaving my son without glasses, is just unacceptable. CS Rep: I completely understand your concern and the added stress this has caused. It's clear we let you down by not prompting for the PD and by making it difficult to reach us. We want to make this right. I'm going to initiate an expedited re-order with the correct PD, and we will send you a pre-paid label for the return of the incorrect pair. We'll ensure he has his proper glasses as quickly as possible. Customer: That's a relief to hear, but can you promise me this won't be another two-week ordeal of emails and broken links? I just need his glasses to be right this time, with the correct PD, and without more runaround.

The reason I left this review on the website is to hopefully prevent others from falling into the same trap of incorrect prescriptions and frustrating customer service.
